UNCLOUDED

not Ruining Tomorrow on purpose

How do you unwind after a demanding day?

There was a time when my version of unwinding came in a glass. A generous pour of red, a deep exhale, and a convincing little lie: I deserved it, this is helping.
And to be fair—it did… for about 20 minutes.

Then came the sequel nobody asked for: sluggish thoughts, another pour, and a morning that felt like I owed life an apology.

These days, my unwind looks different. And honestly? It actually works.

I walk.

I wander with intention kind of walk.

I grab my dog, step outside, and let the world meet me where I am. With sunshine on my face, or wind messing up my hair, or that random chill that makes you pull your jacket tighter and feel oddly alive I’ll take it all.

It’s sensory. It’s grounding. It’s like telling my nervous system,
Hey… we survived the day. You can relax now.

I swim.

Swimming is my reset button. Laps back and forth, rhythm steady, thoughts slowly untangling themselves without me forcing anything.

—and jacuzzi, and the sauna, where I sit and let the heat do what overthinking never could: soften everything.

That’s the thing I didn’t understand before.
Relaxation isn’t something you pour.
It’s something you practice.

It’s movement.
It’s presence.
It’s choosing something that gives back instead of taking more.

Now when I unwind, I don’t borrow peace from tomorrow.
I build it right here, in the moment.
Plus….
I wake up the next day… not needing to recover from my recovery.
